Case study: ANZ Design Workshop

Problem

ANZ sought to explore and validate new product concepts for within Internet banking. A single day design workshop was deemed the ideal approach.

Outcome

The workshop demonstrated that product concepts can be rapidly identified and assessed with customers. Further the value, and potential ease, of obtaining user feedback early in the process was highlighted.  The group came up with a couple of great concepts which we hope to see developed in the future.

Approach

A design workshop was facilitated by Nomat which involved exploring the problem space, developing concepts, prototypes and then gaining customer feedback. Testing with customers was rapid and informal (e.g. local cafe or on the street) to allow for cost effective and timely recruitment. Following testing, some concepts were discarded and updates identified to the preferred concepts. Concepts were prioritized in terms of which should be pursued.

Design sprint in action

Storyboards were one of many techniques used during the design sprint.
